My name is Joe Vulgamore. I currently live in Corpus Christi TX, and I am an adventure junkie. I love all adventure sports and participate in as many as possible. I love surfing, mountain biking, hiking, bouldering, kayaking and much more.
My love of action-adventure sports began when I was a kid riding BMX. After high school, I joined the US Army as a Paratrooper and so began my love for adrenaline-based activities. There I discovered my love for climbing and mountaineering as well.
In 2009, I started Texas Gulf Coast Surfing Magazine and published that until 2011. I also ran Texas Surf TV, which featured surf video from across the Texas coast. One of the featured shows was a web series called “Off the Lip”, which was a surf-based variety show.
As much as I love photography and videography, I found that I was no longer a participant in adventure sports. After closing the doors on the magazine, I re-immersed myself into the activities that I love.
Currently, I manage a community-based blog (and Facebook page) called “Human Spirit of Adventure”. The focus of HSA is on adventure sports. Here you will find surfing, biking, hiking, kayaking, climbing, skydiving, or any other sport outside the mainstream that gets the adrenaline pumping.
In addition to articles, HSA is working on a couple of projects… we have a series of survival videos coming up and we are filming an inspirational adventure documentary as we speak (shot entirely on GoPro cams).
Being a “Community-based” blog, HSA encourages our readers to send us their stories, photos, and video in order to tell the whole world about their adventures in their own words. After all, the goal is to let the world know the human spirit is still alive… and to gather those who share the belief that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.
So, if anyone has an adventure to share, we'd love to be your platform for telling it to the masses. We will even set you up your own page with all of your contributed material, give you a byline, and the works.
The main blog currently has readers from all over the globe. We have regular visitors from the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Russia, UK, Australia, and all over the Middle East.
Remember… Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.
